And so it is Christmas . . .

And so it is Christmas, and what have you done?
War is over
For weak and for strong         If you want it
For rich and the poor ones     War is over
The road is so long                 Now
And so happy Christmas         War is over
For black and for white           If you want it
For yellow and red ones         War is over
Let's stop all the fight            Now

I personally think John Lennon wrote the best carol ever, with Good King Wenceslas as a close runner up.
Good King Wenceslas last looked out
‘Pon the Feast of Stephen
When the snow lay round and ‘bout
Deep and crisp and even.
Brightly shone the moon that night
Tho the frost was cruel
When a poor man came in sight
Gathering winter fuel.

King Wenceslas died on Sept. 20th; 929.He was murdered in his early twenties, and had ruled Bohemia for five short years. He is remembered as the patron saint of the Czech Republic, and as a good and kind leader, especially to the poor and to children.

I reflect on this. As both John Lennon and the King of Bohemia, outspoken against the injustice of the world, were murdered for their strong beliefs of peace and good will, so was the King of Peace himself, the man who’s day of birth we celebrate December 25th.

This might be a comment on a world that learns little from past mistakes.
An eye for an eye, until no one can see, as we stumble blindly into repeated history-

The day we celebrate Jesus might be a day to contemplate all of this.
Peace- It starts at home.

Think deeply, speak gently, love much, laugh aloud, work hard, forgive and be kind.

I watch the serendipitous snow fall. How pretty is that?
Merry Christmas!
